Great monitor! We actually have the sensor pad turned off though. For an expensive product, the instructio- ns aren't all that clear so, for example, I couldn't figure out if turning the sensitivit- y dial up would make it more or less likely to go off for no reason... something I really didn't want to test with my sleeping baby! On the otherhand, the different functions have little symbols and it is pretty simple to customize your preference- s for the various options...
We do use it as a sound monitor and it's great! The sound is very clear and we haven't once had an issue with "snow- " or feedback such as I've heard on friends' monitors. I also really like the nightlight and the nursery temperatur- e that shows on the parent unit.
In a nutshell, because I'm only using it as a sound monitor at this point, if I hadn't received it as a gift I would probably have spent my own money on something else.

I love my Angelcare monitor. I tend to be on the paranoid side, and this gave me peace of mind. You do have to be good about turning it off before getting baby out of the crib, because it will go off if you don't, but it was totally worth it for me.

returned it, worked nicely, but the movement sensor monitor constantly went off, even when baby was fine. Also, for those night wakings, you have to remember to shut it off, 'cause as soon as you remove baby from the crib, the thing starts beeping as it doesn't sense the movement of baby breathing. Too much work!
