Submited By: Merryl Bird on 09/26/2009 Overall I think this is the best car seat you can buy at this moment for your newborn baby, but there are a few items that need improvement.
1 The harness straps get twisted around inside the buckles; the lower connection are under an angle and the strap folds in the buckles every now and then.
2 there are different versions of the lower buckle as I've found out. My friend has one where you attach the buckles individually [with steel buckles like in a car], those work well. My carseat has a plastic buckle where you need to hold the two buckles perfectly together to put them in, that system doesn't work so well as your baby will move and turn to get out of the car seat. I don't know what system is the newer one, but the one on this image is the plastic one that I have.
3 The carry handle can be fixed in different positions which is nice, but you need two hands on both sides to unlock the fix, and that is a hassle.
4 The total weight of the car seat is a lot, the heavier your baby gets the more you will have to lift, it gets to be a good workout.
5 I sometimes have trouble getting it unlocked from the base; you need to lift the seat in the direction of the back of the car and of course there is the fabric from the car bench in the way.
6 It would be nice if they would make a dip/ring in the carry handle so a toy could be fixed in place on it.
I might be a bit too critical but I am surprised how they haven't thought about those little things that could make life so much easier.
I have the leather Ecopelle one, it cleans easily and looks very fancy. Unfortunately since my baby is a heavier one he has outgrown [in weight] this seat at 7 months old.
